## An NHS waiting list that keeps getting bigger

Ophthalmology is currently the busiest outpatient speciality in secondary care, making up almost 10% of the NHS waiting list.

In May 2023, the NHS released [new clinical guidance](https://www.england.nhs.uk/2023/05/new-nhs-measures-to-improve-eye-care-and-cut-waiting-times/) for ophthalmology. Cinapsis has been working in Cambridge across primary and secondary care to streamline the referral process.
